We've got mail

I know what your thinking, the RA!!! Nope, but we did get our Chinese Visa's. That means when we do get out RA and our TA (travel approval) then we'll already have permission for the Chinese government to travel to China. Still waiting on the illusive RA though. A few families who got referrals with us have already gotten their RA's and will be traveling the first week of March. Their dossiers were sent to China months before our was so that is why they are already approved. I was excited to hear that those children would soon meet their families but my heart aches as I wait for Abby Grace. I know it is very cold where she is and I know that she is not getting the comfort from her nannies that I as her mother could give her. It is so hard being so far away from her.
So many people have asked about our adoption lately. I know that there are lots of people praying for us and for Abby Grace. I know that in God's time we will finally get to travel and bring her home.

Quilt update: I sent all 108 squares to a friend of mines mom. She and a friend of hers are going to be busily working on making 2 quilts. A small lap quilt for Abby Grace and a larger quilt to save for later. I am so excited to see what she does. 108fabrics is a lot to try to get together into a pattern, but she assured me she can do it.

A whole lot of waiting going on

There have not been any updates to post for our adoption since our LOI was sent and we received our PA. Right now there is just a whole lot of waiting going on. We just sent off our Chinese Visa applications and hope to receive those back in the next week or so. Until that happens and we receive our RA we'll just be waiting.

We received a wonderful gift from a client of Sean's this past week. He had heard, I'm not sure if it was from Sean or not, about our adoption and Abby. When he paid his statement for the month of December he included a note and a check to help cover some of our expenses. It is so amazing how people who you don't really know on a close personal relationship are moved by the prospect of our adoption. People always say how they are so "proud" of us for doing this and how they think we are doing a great thing. The truth is we are just doing what we felt led to do. Did we know where all of the finances were going to come from? No. Has the Lord provided all that we have needed so far? Yes! He has provided things at the moment of need. Had our house sold a few weeks later than it did we probably would have had to turn down Abby's referral. Just thinking about that let's me know that God planned and orchestrated this entire adoption process. He is the author and director of this journey to Abby Grace. He knows just what we need and when we need it. What an amazing God we serve!! How lucky are we to live in a country where we are free to worship our one true maker. Though this journey is not complete I thank the Lord daily for choosing us to be the one's to adopt Abby Grace and introduce her to the amazing love of Jesus Christ.

On another note a great friend of mine will be traveling this Thursday to China to bring her daughter home. Be sure to click on Miranda Hendren on the links and follow Angie's journey to Miranda Joy. They'll be traveling 1/17-1/31/08.
